Akansha Das
WHC Student Volunteer
I am currently volunteering with the Collective helping with all things for growth, community commitment and social media while also training to be a scribe! I was drawn to the Collective because I was fascinated by a practice rooted in destigmatizing healthcare for women and focused on a holistic patient model. I am a pre-med student at Washington and Jefferson College with a conditional acceptance to Temple Medical School. Along with pursuing a biochemistry major, I am extremely interested in health disparities, gender and women's studies and social determinants of health. I appreciate the variety of experiences volunteering provides, and I have devoted a large portion of my time to Porter Hills Retirement Home and Mercy Health Saint Mary's Gift Shop in the past. Additionally, advocacy is a passion of mine and I have co-founded an organization named Coders4Tomorrow striving to teach underserved students in West Michigan the basics of coding.
